Residency in Tech + Art

The Residency in Tech+Art project is dedicated to promoting digital equity for high school students by bridging the world of art and technology. Limited digital literacy can create challenges for students, hindering their participation in the digital economy and effective communication in the digital realm.

Our 24-week afterschool curriculum is specifically designed to support under-resourced students in marginalized areas of Washington DC. By merging students' artistic abilities with technology, our program enhances their creative talents and empowers them with valuable digital skills.

In the Residency in Tech+Art program, students embrace a growth mindset as they explore the interconnections between technology, innovative design, and digital art. They develop a prototype product and showcase their newfound knowledge and skills within their communities.

Throughout the program, students learn about Design Thinking concepts, gain familiarity with tools like Sketch Pal and digital audio workstations such as Amped Studio, and actively engage in building online communities using platforms like Discord.

We actively seek partnerships with schools to offer this program as an after-school opportunity for students. By participating in the Residency in Tech+Art, students not only acquire essential digital literacy skills but also develop their creativity and critical thinking abilities.
